Chapter President's Message

Dear Members;

 

As the 2010-2011 President of the Paralegal Association of Florida, Inc. (PAF) the Suncoast Chapter, I appreciate the opportunity to introduce you to our organization and all it can provide you and your co-workers as legal professionals.  PAF, along with the Suncoast Chapter, has consistently provided its membership with a vision for the future along with an unwavering commitment from its leadership to see that vision through to fruition.  My focus is to vigorously advance and further develop the strategic goals of PAF.

The Suncoast Chapter has played an integral role in the growth of PAF through the promotion of the paralegal profession, including the institution of the Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) Program in 2008.  Suncoast supports the personal and professional aspects of its local membership, its state and national affiliations, and the community at large, by facilitating direct access to each member within the legal community.  With advanced internet capabilities, the Suncoast Chapter communicates daily with individual members, and distributes timely information via mass communications.  We are exploring the use of a listserv to encourage active exchange of ideas.

 

With our monthly dinner meetings, the Suncoast Chapter offers great networking opportunities.  The meetings provide a forum for the exchange and dissemination of relevant information pertaining to our local chapter, the state, and national organizations.  With our unprecedented access to the legal community and its judiciary, these meetings also enable our paralegals to obtain the necessary CLE's required for compliance with the newly adopted FRP along with the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) requirements.
