Welcome to the Suncoast Chapter of the Paralegal Association of Florida, Inc. The Paralegal
Association of Florida (PAF), along with the Suncoast Chapter is proud to celebrate its thirty- third
anniversary in 2009. The Suncoast Chapter has played an integral role in the growth of PAF through
the promotion of the paralegal profession. This includes the placement of numerous state officers,
including four (4) local presidents, elected to the PAF Board of Directors.
The Suncoast Chapter explores both the personal and professional aspects of its local membership, its
state and national affiliations, and the community at large, by providing direct access to each member
within the paralegal community. With advanced internet capabilities, the Suncoast Chapter
communicates with individual members on a daily basis, as well as providing mass communications as
applicable. Through the use of monthly dinner meetings, the Suncoast Chapter is able to offer a
forum for the exchange and dissemination of relevant information pertaining to our local chapter, the
state, and national organizations. With our unprecedented access to the legal community and its
judiciary, these meetings also enable our paralegals to obtain the necessary CLE’s in order to remain in
compliance with the newly adopted Florida Registered Paralegal Program (FRP) along with the National
Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) requirements.
Monthly dinner meetings are held the second Monday of each month, September through May. We are
fortunate to have access to the Bay Room, situated on the beautiful Sarasota Bay, and conveniently
located in downtown Sarasota at Marina Jack’s, 2 Marina Plaza, Sarasota, FL 34236 . Socializing and
networking begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by our business meeting and dinner at 6:15 p.m. Each
month, a featured speaker presents information on current topics and legal issues effecting our
community. Attendees earn (1) CLE credit. Cost is $25 per person for members and $26 per person
for non-members. |
